Imagine God is like the ocean; vast, powerful, consuming, uncontainable. And yet the ocean reaches every shore of every continent. It treats all as equal.
Now imagine Christ (who is God made man) is like a glass that has been filled from the ocean. It is by essence the same as the ocean, but without the majestic of the ocean. The glass of ‘ocean’ has forfeit but the ocean itself is still the ocean with no compromise of its vast, powerful, consuming, uncontainable nature.
Imagine the Holy Spirit is the wind (a good and biblical image!). The wind carries the ocean in its currents as clouds to bring rain to what would otherwise be dry and arid land; it waters and refreshes, it cools and invigorates, and cause life to grow and flourish.
